A little about Mr. CassidyI grew up in Davie County, which is an hour from Charlotte. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and my M.Ed. in Counselor Education from N.C. State. This year will mark my 22nd year in education, and my tenth at ETES. In addition to spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy traveling around the world, camping, hiking, fishing, reading, sports, listening to music, and taking care of my numerous pets. As my students will quickly learn, I am a huge fan of Appalachian State, NC State, the Carolina Panthers, and the LA Dodgers.
When it comes to teaching, I consider myself fun, fair, and firm. I have very high expectations for my students, my parents, and myself. I expect all students to always do their best and take their education seriously. Homework assignments are to be completed on time and to the best of each child's ability. Classroom and school rules are to be adhered to, with added emphasis on respecting others. I chose to become an educator because I wanted to be a postivie influence and role model for children. I'm very fair when it comes to discipline. I remind students on a daily basis that making good choices leads to rewards, making bad choices leads to consequences, and that each student has control of the choices he/she makes. Good manners go a long way in my classroom! Thank you for you support, Rod Cassidy |
